Human Excellence - Who am I?-2

2. I am sum of many layers

* Beauty of Body- vitality, strength, health , beauty

* Power of Life-enthusiasm, pleasure,

* Knowledge of Mind –peace, calm, poise,

* Love of heart –love, affection,

* Harmony of society –poise,

* Skills, attitude, knowledge, capacities, abilities

* Truth, unity, goodness, knowledge, power and Love characterize being human.

This what actually we are. We never get away from all the above. But we forget all of them and enter into afflictions, sufferings and problems and diseases.

What is required is remind ourselves in such a way that once we know our nature –essential nature , we never forget as we never forget that we are a boy or girl even after sudden waking from it.

This remembering is termed as Self remembering by Sufis, Viveka Khyati ( awakening of wisdom) by Patanjali Yoga, Nama simiran ( remembering the name ) by Guru Grantha Sahib ( a divine scripture of Sikhism) and Hakikat ( reality) by Islam.

This is what real yoga is? Yoga is self discovery. if practices of Yoga do not take you near the real Self, it can not be termed Yoga in real sense.

If you are travelling from America to India and take a flight, you become sure that you will reach India. However, flight lands in between. Similarly, when you are practicing Asana, you simply board a plane of Yoga, in order to reach to destination fixed by great seers, who developed it. But if you remain inside the plane and do not want to come out saying that,” this asana practice will help me reach awakening the wisdom, you are indentified with it, you are attached to it. Attachment will bring suffering one hand and you will never reach the destination.

Remember, to reach India, boarding plane is essential. But deciding not to come out of plane is a mistake. Similarly, boarding or practicing Asana is essential to prepare your body to receive higher consciousness which will awaken wisdom in the end.

But practice of asana alone without aspiring to receive higher consciousness ( or practicing like physical exercises will not bring all benefits as explained in yogic scriptures)

What are the attributes written above with title,” I am sum of many Layers” demands contemplation, reflection and awareness at every moment , in every activity, in all endeavors so that these attributes are consciously experienced and lived. This very living is self remembering, Nama Simiran and moving towards self discovery.

We will discuss and offer many practices which can be done for realizing what is written above.

Sadhana – Contemplate over all aspects written above

How small we are?

How insignificant we are?

How much unknown we are?

Write down what you think of yourself apart from what is written above and wait for next blog

Sadhana (practices that you can do Here and Now)

· Just look at things, people, events what ever comes in front of your eyes. Do not allow your mind to even think or remember from the past of any attribute/s of what you look at. Wait, just look . you will discover that senses are widows to the world and window neither judge nor think , nor label. You will not be able to identify a girl even as girl, because it is mind from the past , brings the memory and offer an image that helps you to recognize a girl as girl. But if you do not allow the past to come into play. You simply look and become aware of the living entity. This state of awareness is free from all attachments, inclinations and desires. This state is the state of self remembering.

Respected blogger thanks for the "do here and now practice "..its really very effective to break habitual thought pattren .
i have a question,in the day to day activities one have to take help of memory/past experiences to learn new things and apply the already learnt ones then how one can maintain this state all the time ?which we say to live in present plz guide how to strike balance b/w these two views which apear to be contrasting
